I love helping students learn and achieve success. I've taught students at the middle school level for the past 12 years, but also have experience working with children of all ages. I like to take topics that students don't like and help them learn to love them. I've worked with students who resisted reading and transformed them into voracious readers. I've taken students who hate math and develop them into skilled and confident mathematicians. I also impart study skills and organization techniques to students, which I feel are essential for students to be successful. I'm determined to help my students find success, and I work with students using a nurturing approach. I like to develop connections with my students so that they feel comfortable with me, and then I work on their attitude to help them get motivated about learning. Ultimately, I want to produce effective, competent, excited students. When I'm not teaching or tutoring, I like to travel, study ancient civilizations, and learn about other cultures. I also enjoy ballroom dancing, and I participate in competitions with my husband.
